ICE and Israel are Connected by More than Terror: Both Must Be Dismantled

You can’t spell crime without ICE!

I was proud to join thousands of New Yorkers in a march of solidarity to end ICE violence in our cities. The protest included frontline healthcare workers, activists and faith leaders from over 70 organizations, and was part of a series of actions that took place from coast to coast. The march happened just hours before DHS agents in Minnesota murdered yet another peaceful protester, Alex Pretti, which triggered further outrage across the country.

Who Funds ICE and How Did it Get Started?

ICE and Israel, are in many ways, one and the same, as both threaten the very survival of our species. ICE agents are not only trained by IOF (Israeli Occupying Force) soldiers, but ICE itself also operates an office in Tel Aviv (Yafa, occupied Palestine). ICE was established in 2003 as part of the Homeland Security Act. Fast forward 20+ years, and ICE, the smaller of the two terrorist entities (ICE has 22,000 officers and agents, while Israel has a conscription military that pulls from over 7 million citizens), has been tasked with both mass deportations, and the suppression of dissent. ICE’s modus operandi is to invade US cities, and incite citizens, and non-citizens alike, into violent and deadly confrontations. ICE has now murdered over 3 dozen of our brothers and sisters since the start of 2025. According to Public Citizen, “The lawless, ragtag goon squads of DHS, ICE, and the like are not making America safer. And they are not performing anything approaching a legitimate law enforcement purpose. Rather, they are carrying out the Trump regime’s white supremacist project and terrorizing the American people. And they are doing it with an insane amount of our taxpayer dollars: Last year, the absurdly named “Big Beautiful Bill”, allocated $170 billion (that’s billion with a ‘b’) over the next four years for the regime’s racist and brutal immigration crackdown. That wildly excessive and unprecedented spending was paid for by massive cuts to Medicaid and other federal programs that millions upon millions of Americans rely on. ICE is now the largest and most expensive law enforcement agency in America, with a budget greater than that of every other federal law enforcement agency, including the FBI, combined. In fact, the U.S. is now spending more on ICE than all but a handful of other nations spend on their entire military.”

Stephen Semler (Brown University)

Stephen Semler is a trusted source who does outstanding work. Although his numbers are somewhat conservative when it comes to US military spending, his methods are always solid. For example, according to Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, America’s annual military spending is about $1.54 trillion (nearly double the official US numbers, and far greater than the ~ $1 trillion estimates shared below), and exceeds the next 30 countries combined, including both Russia and China. Why the sizable disparity in calculations? Mr. Semler has also reported that that the US military (Pentagon), hasn’t passed an audit in over 30 years! In other words, not only do we not know how much is being spent by the Pentagon, we are not even sure where the money is going. According to the website, Responsible Statecraft, the US military can’t account for 63% of nearly $4 trillion in assets.

As per Stephen Semler, “The House passed a bill that pushes this year’s military budget past the $1 trillion mark. The legislation garnered the support of 149 Democrats. Just 4% of Democratic voters want to increase military spending, but 70% of House Democrats voted for an increase. Note that I only counted the money that fits within the US government’s definition of military spending, which excludes certain costs of war (e.g., Veterans Affairs budget) and paramilitary forces (e.g., ICE budget)…Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported 545,252 people from the US between 2021 and 2024, according to its data, including 271,484 last year. The Trump administration wants to deport 1,000,000 people per year. To that end, there’s $75 billion for ICE in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law earlier this month (July, 2025). This includes: $45 billion to expand the agency’s “detention capacity,” including building new ICE prisons. $30 billion for bonus pay for ICE personnel; recruiting, hiring, and training new personnel; additional facilities, vehicles, and funding for “enforcement and removal operations”. The actual total is likely higher than $75 billion.

How ICE is Connected to the Genocidal State and Society of Israel

Basically, ICE recruits dim-witted, racist, mall cop rejects, and gives them guns, masks, and $50,000 signing bonuses to terrorize civilians, including children. And to make matters worse, there is little to no training for ICE agents, and no background checks either. Can you imagine? A $50,000 signing bonus, and the only requirement is selling your soul, and destroying the lives of others? As per the National Educational Association, the average salary for a starting teacher in the United States is $46,526. Clearly, ICE goons are far more valuable to the US Empire than teachers, and education. But as mentioned before, it gets worse, ICE agents also train with members of the IDF/IOF (Israeli soldiers). F*ck! According to the Palestine Chronicle, “While some have instinctively drawn parallels to Israeli violence against Palestinians, the connection between Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is more than just the blood on their hands. Although most Americans are unaware of it, ICE has a direct relationship with the Israeli military, which is training its forces to treat American citizens like Palestinians under occupation. For more than two decades, ICE agents and executives have maintained relations with Israeli lobby groups, participated in training and exchange programs with the Israeli occupation forces. On October 16, 2025, US Army veteran and whistleblower, Antony Aguilar, said that “ICE agents and DEA agents, and other three-letter agencies, train with the Israelis,” warning people that the tactics used on Palestinians would return back to the United States. The former Green Beret’s warning didn’t come out of nowhere. Back in July of 2025, a senior figure in ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations, Peter Hatch, had revealed in a court testimony that “most” of the names of students that the agency was requested to investigate came directly from the Israel lobby–linked website, the Canary Mission. The extremist Betar Zionist group also submitted the names of hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters to ICE, which it is confirmed they reviewed, aiming to have them deported and for their free speech rights to be violated. And who can forget the infamous cases of this happening upon US President Donald Trump entering office, such as that of former Columbia student Mahmoud Khalil. Not only does ICE act on behalf of lists submitted to it by Zionist groups, and Israel lobby – connected organizations, but it also uses Israeli security technology such as Graphite spyware and Cellebrite digital forensics software. Yet the bond between both ICE, which operates with the budget of a military, and the IDF runs deeper. In 2014, the US tech giant Palantir contracted with ICE on a case management system. Palantir, which has developed an AI platform with the Israeli military that helps identify people for strikes, has been labeled an AI-generated kill list.”

Who will ICE Kill next?

Mondoweiss continues to do excellent work and is another trusted source. According to journalist, Ahmad Absais, “Renee Good, like many Palestinians before her, died because authoritarian forces decided she did not deserve to live, and because the entire legal and political structure exists to ensure those agents never face meaningful consequences for murder. On January 7, ICE agents shot Renee Good three times through her car window…Then, they blocked ambulances from reaching her for fifteen minutes while she bled out in the driver’s seat with her partner beside her. Within hours, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was calling Good, the woman who had just been executed in broad daylight by a federal agent, a “domestic terrorist,” claiming the agent had acted in self-defense against a woman allegedly trying to run him over with her vehicle. If this sounds familiar, it should, because it is the exact same play Israel deploys every single time they kill a Palestinian. Take, for example, on December 6, just a few weeks ago, when Israeli soldiers in Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, ordered 17-year-old Ahmad Rajabi to stop his car. He stopped and then they shot him dead anyway. They prevented emergency services from reaching Ahmad and shot at them as well. There are countless others just like Rajabi. ICE and the Israeli army are using the same playbook because they are born of the same system of state violence and white-supremacy – the same machinery of racialized control that has been refined in Palestine and imported to American cities through deliberate policy and corporate profit. As Noura Erakat penned, the ‘imperial boomerang” has already made its way back. Calling victims “terrorists” is how you make the dead responsible for their own deaths. Israel has spent decades making it so that every Palestinian killed at a checkpoint was “trying to ram soldiers,” every journalist shot while wearing a press vest was “operating with militants,” every child killed was somehow an imminent threat requiring lethal force. How else can you justify turning Gaza into a graveyard? This is what occupation looks like everywhere it exists, in every context where armed agents operate with total impunity over populations denied meaningful legal protection or political power. And beyond the paramilitary forces swarming the streets, the same digital systems of occupation are also migrating back here.”

According to Human Rights Attorney Steven Donziger, “ICE is not just a rogue police agency. It’s actually a domestic terrorist organization. Let’s review what happened in the last few weeks. Trump sent ICE agents to invade the US city of Minneapolis (population 3.7 million) to arrest immigrants, mostly Somalis who fled violence and persecution in their homeland and are living in the US legally. During a tactical operation on January 7, ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed an unarmed citizen named Renee Good by putting three bullets in her head. In my view, this was murder under any legal definition. Rather than investigate Ross and hold him accountable, Trump ordered the Department of Justice to investigate her widow for ties to activist groups. Trump also is using the killing to launch an all-out military occupation of the city by masked agents recruited from far-right extremist groups like the Proud Boys. Many are openly abducting people of color (including many citizens) from their cars and homes. The purpose is to freak out, intimidate, and terrorize the local population to submit to Trump as our strongman leader. It’s terrorism in service of fascism. And it’s happening not just in Minneapolis but all over the country in Democrat-led cities that by virtue of their multi-ethnic character directly challenge Trump’s conception of America as a white Christian nation. At core, this all about using racism to divide people in service of Trump’s power grab. Here’s my proposal: we must hit the streets to force ICE out of our cities and demand that it be abolished. In the meantime, state prosecutors in Minnesota should charge Ross with murder. More broadly, local police must start protecting us by arresting ICE agents who violate our rights through assaults, shootings and false arrests. In New York City where I live, our new Mayor must try to create a model for the nation along these lines. It’s about threatening public safety in service of Trump’s power grab.”

Donald Trump’s Ghoulish “Board of Peace” (aka Board of Genocide)

Donald Trump’s soulless son-in law, Jared Kushner, actually used the term “Master Plan” to describe Trump’s unconscionably offensive “Board of Peace” plan for historic Palestine. He must have been heartbroken to learn that the term “Final Solution” had already been used for another Genocide. Rather than comment further, I will just share what the experts below had to say about Trump’s heinous “Board of Peace” scheme.

Max Blumenthal: “Jewish Zionist (Jared Kushner), real estate guy gets to redesign Gaza into a biometric concentration camp with the support or consent of those who want to buy into Trump’s pay for play “Board of Peace” which requires a $1 billion pay in. It’s
modeled after the UN Security Council logo, but with gold wings. So Trump is aiming to replace the UN Security Council and create a one world Trumpian government in Gaza…And Turkey and Qatar have agreed. And Russia and China did not veto this plan at the Security Council. And now Putin is buying into it.”

Why Israel, and ICE, Must be Dismantled ASAP

Again, the United States, and Israel, are the two biggest agents of TERROR in the world, and the greatest threats to the survival of our species. How so? The US-Israeli Genocide in Gaza is one of the worst crimes in human history. Human Rights attorney Steven Donziger estimated in July, 2025, that since October 8, 2023, the United States and Israel had murdered over 400,000 of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. As per Mr. Donziger, “Based on a statistical model developed by a prestigious medical journal called The Lancet, Israel has killed roughly 434,800 people in Gaza since the country’s military started to attack the territory on 8 October 2023. That’s 20.7% of Gaza’s entire pre-conflict population dead. Over half are women and children. If the same level of killing and indirect death that took place in Gaza during the 594 days of the conflict happened in the United States proportional to population, roughly 70 million Americans would have been killed.”

Moreover, Israel is a “satanic state” that has an estimated 300-400 nuclear warheads. Israel also has a nuclear strategy that apparently includes something called the “Samson Option”, whereby Israel would launch a massive nuclear strike on Palestinians, and their Arab neighbors (and possibly European cities), if it ever felt truly threatened. For our species to survive, and for justice to prevail, Israel must be held accountable for the genocide in Gaza, and somehow be dismantled (see below). As for the United States of War? According to Brown University’s Costs of War Project, the United States has killed between 4.5-4.7 million innocent people in the illegal, US led, post 9/11 wars alone. The United States has also killed over 20 million innocent people since World War 2, and outspends the next 30 countries combined, including Russia and China, on its military. So, yeah, the US and Israel, are by far, the biggest agents of terror in the world, and the greatest threats to the survival of our species.

Clearly, Israel is a direct threat to the “whole of humanity” and must be dismantled before it’s too late. ICE is no different, and must be shut down immediately too. As per the Party for Socialism & Liberation, “Trump has unleashed a wave of terror nationwide. ICE and Border Patrol are the frontline enforcers of his racist campaign to expel huge numbers of people from the country that this white supremacist administration considers “incompatible with western civilization”. In the pursuit of this horrifying mission, federal cops have been given a license to kill with impunity (like the IDF). Trump plans to continue his ICE invasions city by city, sending in thousands of agents to rip families apart and murder anyone who stands in their way.”

Historian Illan Pappe

ICE will be easier to dismantle than Israel. Israel is not only a genocidal state, but a genocidal society too. Historian Illan Pappe’s superb book, Israel On the Brink: And the Eight Revolutions that Could Lead to Decolonization and Coexistence, provides a road map for how Israel could be dismantled in a peaceful way. Mr. Pappe does a masterful job in explaining how it can be done, and in convincing the reader that it is not just wistful thinking.

Here are a few excerpts:
“There are four main mechanisms for implementing transitional justice. The first is the prosecution of those bearing great responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Second, as happened in South Africa, and Rwanda, truth and reconciliation are set up, in which hearings are held to establish the truth about crimes perpetrated, and for those hearings to become a matter of public record. Third, victims are compensated for their suffering, and finally, ideally, the transition culminates with legal and political reforms that would stop human rights abuses occurring in the future…Justice in these cases is rooted in restorative principles, acknowledging that in an unjust society, there is a wide spectrum of complicity with human rights violations. Restorative justice is based on perpetrators acknowledging their crimes and understanding their true impact by hearing from the victims affected, in which victims and perpetrators work together to find a way to repair the harm caused.

No transitional justice process so far has been perfect, and often even in cases held up as shining examples by international law, the victims feel let down. In societies rebuilding from crimes as horrific as genocide, it is important to acknowledge that repairing the harm done might well be impossible. What, after all, can a state offer you to compensate for the loss of your family? Or years of your life spent in prison on dubious charges, or the mental and physical trauma from torture? Justice is a very long process and doesn’t stop once the trials have ended.

It involves transforming the economic and educational systems of a country.

In December 2015, Zochrot, an Israeli NGO founded in 2002 and dedicated to educating Jewish citizens of Israel about the Nakba, established the Truth Commission. The commission published a report that examined the Israeli policies against the Palestinians in the Negev between 1948 and 1960. Employing the language of transitional justice, the committee unearthed the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians during that time, a policy that was followed by the construction of Jewish settlements over the lands of the expelled Palestinians who were driven out of Palestine or into enclaves of the Negev…Zochrot’s recommendations in its report treat Israel’s continued existence as a given, a truth commission in a post-Israel future will doubtless have even more radical recommendations.

Another initiative to draw inspiration from is the Russell Tribunal on Palestine, a global civic initiative launched to draw attention to Israeli war crimes in the aftermath of Operation Cast Lead (2008-9) and culminating with a report on Israel’s brutal offensive, Operation Protective Edge (2014). A jury of lawyers and human rights advocates from around the world heard evidence relating to Israel war crimes, many of which, such as targeting hospitals, have become commonplace and practically unquestioned in the ongoing invasion of Gaza. These initiatives , of course, had no legal authority, but they sought to establish the truth of events, to name and recognize atrocities, and to not let injustices pass away in silence. They hoped to galvanize support for Palestinian people, within Israeli Jewish society and across the wider world. Both their practices and the evidence they gathered will provide useful resources for future attempts at seeking justice in Palestine…My hope is that a future Jewish generation in a post-Israel Palestine will dissociate itself from its past as adamantly as white South Africans do now. It will look back at the statements made by Israeli ministers today with disgust and horror.”

The bottom line? The Bulletin of the Scientific Scientists’ Science and Security Board (SASB), is a globally recognized organization with a specific focus on “nuclear risk, climate change, and disruptive technologies.” Their latest statement, although flawed (they wrongfully conflate (without evidence), both China and Russia with the United States for being the cause of the world’s destruction), reveals a chaotic global society on the brink of nuclear disaster. As per the SASB, “The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists Science and Security Board today sets the Doomsday Clock at 85 seconds to midnight, the closest it has ever been to catastrophe.” In other words, due to US-Israeli madness (genocide, mass murder campaigns, aggression, greed, depravity, etc.), the world is now closer than ever before to nuclear annihilation. As I shared in a previous post, if organized societies end as a result of a nuclear war, and 90-98% of the world’s population disappears due to starvation, and a nuclear winter (as the great Daniel Ellsberg estimated), it will be due to the unchecked arrogance, greed, stupidity, and complete disregard for life, by the United States of America. Make no mistake, the United States could have stopped Israel on day one. So yes, ICE, and Israel, are connected by more than terror, and both must be dismantled before it’s too late.
